Estate and Clear-Out Specialist
Part-time W-2 employee · As-needed project schedule · $19 to $23 an hour · Greater Houston
When a home has to be emptied, you make sure nothing of value or meaning is lost on the way out. You sort, document, and route what remains, and you hand back a home that's ready to list.
What you'd do
- Sort remaining contents and identify items with resale, donation, or family value
- Photograph and catalog items headed to estate sale, consignment, or auction
- Prepare and document donations, and keep receipts organized for the family
- Coordinate on site with haulers and cleaners, and confirm the work is done right
- Do a final walk-through so the home is handed back broom-clean and market-ready
What we're looking for
- An eye for what has value, and the honesty to flag it rather than pocket it
- Comfort working in homes after a loss, with the discretion that deserves
- Organized documentation habits, because families and executors rely on the record
What the job requires
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in dusty or cluttered conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Comfortable photographing and cataloging items on a phone or tablet
- Authorized to work in the United States. Offers are contingent on a background check
The schedule
Project-based weekdays, occasionally compressed into consecutive days when an estate is on a deadline.
Who this tends to suit
This suits people with estate sale, antiques, resale, or auction experience, and anyone detail-oriented who works respectfully around grief.
