Crew Lead
Part-time W-2 employee · As-needed project schedule · Experience required · $24 to $28 an hour · Greater Houston
You run the job on site. You hold the plan, direct the crew, keep the client calm and informed, and make the call when something unexpected turns up, because on this work something always does.
What you'd do
- Run projects on site from arrival to sign-off, working from the written plan
- Direct and support the specialists on your crew, and set the tone for the day
- Be the client's point person on site, and keep the family informed as the day goes
- Direct the moving crew on move day, placing furniture from the floor plan
- Confirm the inventory, handle exceptions, and document anything that needs a decision
- Report back to the office on progress, hours, and anything that changes the scope
What we're looking for
- Experience leading people in homes, hospitality, retail, care, or a trade
- Calm under pressure, especially when a client becomes emotional or a plan slips
- Judgment about when to make a decision and when to make a phone call
- Respect for the crew, because how you treat them is how they treat the client
What the job requires
- Two or more years of relevant work, including some experience leading others
- Everything listed under the Senior Move Specialist requirements
- Comfortable writing brief, clear updates and notes
The schedule
Same project-based schedule, with earlier starts and later finishes on move days. Crew Leads generally get first call on available work.
Who this tends to suit
This suits experienced organizers, move managers, care staff, hospitality supervisors, or anyone who has run a team and wants work that matters.
